1. It's a book! IT'S GREAT BEING A DAD is officially born. Congrats to Dan Bar-el - it was such a fun story to illustrate. I got to celebrate National Unicorn Day yesterday with my first bookstore reading. It was super fun to read the book (and draw the characters!) for lots of cute littles. Thank you to all the friends who came (from near and far!) to celebrate and to Water Street Bookstore for being a fantastic host. Just look at that beautiful window display!
2. Unicorn Snacks: I think the rainbow rice krispie treats were a success! Thanks to Sweet as a Cookie for the pretty food recipe.
4. Happy Sibling Day!: I'm getting whiplash from all these special days. But today IS Sibling Day. Go squeeze a sister or use that to get the kids to get along better today. My son and daughter love/fight will all their hearts. I'm hoping for more of a lovey day today, but just in case, I have a few leftover unicorn snacks to smooth things over. ;)
5. On my desk: Too much! April has turned out to be quite the whirlwind. I'm looking forward to handing in some work and heading off to the annual NESCBWI Spring Conference in a few weeks. Minus finding a few new outfits to wear, it's going to be a low stress. I haven't attended in a few years, and I'm thrilled to spend time with friends, soak up some new knowledge, and see my book in the bookstore for the first time! Also, I printed up my portfolio using Mixbook - No printing needed! I highly recommend using them and saving your sanity.
